Can't play motorstorm apocalypse online?

Hi, i got motorstorm a few weeks ago and i thought it was pretty good but after awhile i wanted to play the multiplayer portion. When i tried to do this i was able to connect to the servers but when i tried to join a race it would always show me some kind of message saying i was unable to and disconnect me from the server. Is it just the games servers and has anyone else had this problem? (my internet connection is pretty good and i never have connection problems on killzone, black ops, dirt 3, etc.)
